Ivan Campo

St Michael and All Angels Church, Dalton, WIgan 7:30 pm - 11:45 pm

Ivan Campo’s story began in the year 2000 when the trio met in Preston studying contemporary music together at UCLAN. After graduating, the band started work on their first EP ‘Clippings 2’ and was self released in early 2004. Drawing from influences that have influenced their song writing (The Beatles, Marc Bolan, Nick Drake), the band have been crafting their DIY sound of alternative folk-pop ever since and have amassed a collection of EPs.

Their songs tell tales; inspired by life, love and literature.

The Manchester based group have been seen by a range of audiences at festivals and venues across the UK – in 2008 the band were invited to support ‘Shack’ on tour, and two shows for ‘The Pale Fountains’ at Liverpool Academy and The Shepherds Bush Empire.

In 2010 their song ‘The Great Procrastinator’ was used in an episode of E4’s ‘Skins’.

The band have received radio play from Bob Harris, Janice Long, (BBC Radio 2), Guy Garvey and Tom Robinson, and have performed four live sessions for Marc Riley’s BBC 6 Music show.

Ivan Campo have had the pleasure of sharing stages with Nick Harper, Roddy Woomble, Jason Lytle, alt-J, Jeffrey Lewis, King Creosote, Thomas Truax, The South, and British Sea Power.

Their latest album Season of the King was released in October 2017 via Manchester artist run label Debt Records and features the single ‘The Bloodhound and the Fox’, which the band performed live on national Spanish TV programme ‘Late Motiv’ hosted by Andreu Buenafuente.

Having been on hiatus during 2019 the band have been busy writing material for their 10th album. New songs will start to be showcased in March 2020 as the band set out on their 4th tour around Spain.
